Welcome to Knights Notes, a daily recap and preview of all the stuff happening with Knights athletics and former Middletown athletes.

A busy day again with one MHS Athletics team in states and two with sectional playoff games, so stay tuned to the blog throughout today.

Without further ado, here are your Knights Notes for October 28th:

- Field hockey lost a heart-breaker to Century yesterday. Never trust a team named Knights. (Link)

- Ashley Park-Brouse and the Hood College volleyball team haven’t had many bright spots this season, but everything was alright as on Park-Brouse’s Senior Night, Hood swept Trinity 3-0. Hood has one more game left in season as they will not make MAC Championship. (Link)

- The golf team took part in the 1A/2A State Championship today. Here where the pairings as play gets ready to start in College Park. (Link)

- The Middletown High School boys soccer team takes on Oakdale tonight in the sectional semifinal. Here is what happened last time these two teams met. (Link)

- The girls soccer team also plays Oakdale at 6 p.m. in the un-friendly confines of Ijamsville. A look into the past for the last time these two teams met. (Link)

- In case you haven’t seen it the bracket looks pretty friendly for both the boys and girls after they make it past Oakdale. (Link) (Link)

- A day after mom Virginia’s MHS varsity team lost, daughter Carlee Dumars and Slippery Rock field hockey looks to lead the Rock over Shippensburg, who is #3 in the nation. Big game for them as a win locks them into the PSAC Championship. (Link)

- Also needing a win for playoff help is Abigail Provost and Stevenson field hockey when they take on Hood at 7 p.m. in Owings Mills. A win versus the Blazers would move them into the MAC Championship. (Link)

- Jacky Kessler and High Point women’s soccer will head to Campbell University to take on the Fightin’ Camels at 7 p.m. today. The Panthers are solidly in the Big South playoffs and are just fighting for a higher seed. Fightin' Camels-best nickname in the NCAA. (Link)

- Bridgewater and Alycia Giauque are in the same spot as High Point as they will look to increase their playoff seed when they take on Eastern Mennonite at 4 p.m. today in their regular season finale. (Link)

- Charleston Southern volleyball has had a rough season, but Ashley Higgenbothem and the Bucs will look to close out the season with a regular season finale win over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. (Link)
