Welcome to Knights Notes, a daily recap and preview of all the stuff happening with Knights athletics and former Middletown athletes.

We’ve come to a dull point in the Athletics calendar as the fall seasons for both MHS and college sports are winding down, with MHS fall sports being completely done and just a few college teams having games left.

We’ll try to keep you updated on all the small things that you may have missed, plus we will have winter sports previews coming very soon.

Without further ado, here are your Knights Notes for November 16th:

- Since the last time we posted, the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (M.P.S.S.A.A.) posted their proposed realignment for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years, and the new regions and sections are quite interesting. These are the regions. (Link) (Link)

- Things get a lot better for Middletown but a whole lot worse for Oakdale (or should we start calling them Choakdale after their loss to South Carroll in football playoffs). The sections are in this link. (Link) (Link)

- Abbey Provost and the Stevenson field hockey team will look to clinch the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship when they take on Arcadia at noon. The ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship is similar to the NIT only for Division III field hockey, so although not an NCAA Championship a win would still be pretty big. (Link)

- Frankie Meighan, Bradley Rinehart, Logan Casey, and the rest of the Shepherd football team will tune in to the NCAA D II football selection show at 5 p.m. After yesterday’s loss all predicition shave the Rams just outside of getting in the playoffs but they really won’t know until after the show is over. (Link)

- Collin Delauter and Bridgewater, Parker Johnson and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and Tim Pirrone and Tim Schumacher of Lebanon Valley will all be watching the D III football selection show at 6 to see if their team’s have made it in. None of the three teams are expected to make it in. (Link)

- Emily Losquadro and the Stevenson women’s soccer team will look to advance past the Round of 32 in the NCAA Division III women’s soccer tournament when they take on Lynchburg College at 5 p.m. (Link)

- Emma Neahusan and the Grace College women’s soccer team will also be Selection Show watching as they will hope to make it in to the bracket which will take them to the NAIA national championship. Grace does have a small chance of making it in the field. (Link)

- Zach Fontenot and the Saint Mary’s College of Maryland men’s basketball team will look to continue the hot start to their season when they take on Eastern Mennonite at the Loyal Royals Tip-Off Classic today. (Link)

- Rachel Kessler, Brittney George, and the Hood College women’s basketball team will look to capture in early title when they take on Elizabethtown in the championship game of the Terry Greene Tip-Off Classic. (Link)

- Zach Strube and the Virginia Tech wrestling team will take on Gardner-Webb and North Dakota State in a tri-match down in Blacksburg today. (Link)

- Judd Ziegler and Princeton wrestling team head to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania today to compete in the East Stroudsburg Open. (Link)
