I’d like to welcome everyone to
Winning After MidKnight: A Middletown Athletics Blog. I’m Ben Spector, the
editor/producer/creator of Winning After MidKnight.
If you are from the Middletown community
you might know me as I have been pretty involved in Middletown over the years.
If not, I went to Middletown High School, graduating with the Class of 2014.
I was and still am involved in
Middletown Athletics as I was manager of the baseball, boys swimming and
diving, and girls swimming and diving during my time there.
I also operate the video board at
Knights Field at Middletown High School most of the time and am the voice of
Middletown youth football on Saturdays. But enough about me, let’s get to what
you really want to hear about: what is this blog and why I’m I crazy enough to
do this?
Simply put, this blog will be a blog
that covers all Middletown sports. And by all Middletown sports, I mean all.
Doesn’t matter if it’s JV field hockey
or varsity football, we’ll be there.
With multiple sports events every
night this will be a tough challenge, but it is one that I am up for 100 percent.
The reason I’m doing this is pretty
simple: I love sports and I love Middletown.
So, why not combine my two loves and
give this community what they enjoy; sports, sports, and more sports.
In my opinion, Middletown is an
athletics school. Each school has their specialty. Governor Thomas Johnson is
probably an arts school, considering it houses (or used to) the magnet music
and arts program which brought artists and musicians from all over the county
to TJ.
Middletown has a fantastic athletics
program from top to bottom and the support they receive from the surrounding
communities of Middletown, Myersville, and Wolfsville is unbelievable.
The strength of the program is shown
in not just the numerous championships Middletown has won in recent years and
throughout school history but the large amount of former Middletown athletes
that have played college sports.
We’ll be doing previews and recaps for
almost every game, plus a lot of features including player profiles on current
athletes, former athletes, and the history of Middletown athletics.
We will have the previews for JV and
Varsity field hockey’s games against Tuscarora up later, but until then I
present to you the official start of Winning After MidKnight.
