Welcome to Knights Notes, a daily recap and preview of all the stuff happening with Knights athletics and former Middletown athletes.

There will be lots of sporting events for Middletown High School this week as six fall sports teams see their seasons hang in the balance, five in postseason and one in the regular season.

A quick note: all scores from yesterday will go first, then other notes.

So here you go, your Knights Notes for October 26th:

- Carlee Dumars racked up her third shutout as Slippery Rock field hockey took down IUP in overtime. (Link)

- Abigail Provost and Stevenson field hockey would easily handle Albright, 5-0 on Senior Day. No big stats for Provost in this game but she has played a lot, with 14 starts in 16 games. (Link)

- Sam Higgenbothem racked up 6 digs for Maryland volleyball as they took down Rutgers in 5 sets for their second Big Ten win. Rutgers being the most geographically similar team to Maryland in the Big Ten is confusing. (Link)

-No statistics but Emily Rabat’s FCC volleyball team lost two matches yesterday to Northern Virginia Community College and Monroe College. Unrelated, but those stats for FCC volleyball, crazy good. (Link) (Link)

- Ashley Higgenbothem and Charletson Southern volleyball would fall to Gardner-Webb in straight sets, to drop to 1-8 in the Big South conference. Higgenbothem did lead the Bucs with 13 digs. (Link)

- Zach Fontenot and Saint Mary’s of Maryland men’s soccer would roll Southern Virginia. And by roll we mean roll. Fontenot would pick up the game winning goal for the Seahawks. (Link)

- Luke Welch’s Air Force Falcons men’s soccer team would drop a 1-0 contest to Seattle University on Welch’s final home game. Welch has played in all 15 games for the Falcons this season, who drop to 6-5-4. (Link)

- In other Senior Day/Night/Noon activities, Jacky Kessler and her High Point Panthers women’s soccer team would beat Presbyterian 2-1. Kessler has been fire this season with 3 goals, giving her 14 on her career. More importantly, Kessler has 16 assists leaving her just one out of a tie for 3rd place all time. (Link)

- Alycia Giauque and Bridgewater women’s soccer would take down Sweet Briar 2-0. Sweet Briar may be the best name for a college/university out there. (Link)

-Cassie Poindexter and the Mehodist Monarchs would roll LaGrange down in Georgia by a 2-0 score. Poindexter would collect a game winning goal scoring the opening tally, her 5th goal of the campaign. (Link)

- Brittney George and Hood women’s soccer took down Lycoming 1-0, in another Senior Day game. I feel like all programs just agreed to do Senior festivities on the same day to annoy each other. (Link)

- Mary Pritts and Queen’s women’s soccer took down Carson-Newman College, 2-0. This season, Pritts has put up 2 goals in just 470 minutes of play. (Link)

- Tim Pirrone and Tim Schumacher would see their Lebanon Valley College football team take down Wilkes 46-0. Pirrone would complete 0 of 2 passes including 1 interception while Schumacher would return 2 punts for 16 yards. (Link)

- In a battle of two former Middletown players, Justin Falcinelli’s Clemson and Ben Lewis’ Syracuse would square off in an ACC matchup. Falcinelli’s Tigers would win 16-6, although neither would sneak in the box score. (Link)

- Parker Johnson and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy football would be just nipped in overtime by WPI, 24-23. (Link)

-Collin Delauter’s Bridgewater football team would take down Washington and Lee, 24-13. (Link)

- Zach Welch and his Monmouth Hawks football team would lose a close one to Presbyterian, 18-12. (Link)

- The Middletown High School Knights golf team headed down to College Park to test out the course ahead of Tuesday’s state tournament. Not a lot in the Frederick news Post’s article, but it’s a golf article so, why not? (Link)
