Winning After MidKnight
Lacrosse gets the first action of the spring
season when the JV and Varsity Boys Lacrosse teams take on Winston Churchill
and the JV and Varsity Girls Lacrosse teams head to Washington County to take
on North Hagerstown. We will have more coverage of that later in the day but
for now here are some brief notes to chew on, as an appetizer for tonight’s
action.
Without further ado, here are your
Knights Notes for March 17th:
- Chase Hoffman and the Shepherd Rams
Baseball team continued their domination of the University of Virginia-Wise
when they took their 3rd and 4th straight games from the
Cavaliers when they swept UVA-Wise in a doubleheader today for the 2nd
day in a row. The Rams took down the Cavaliers, 6-3 in Game 1 and then again in
Game 2, by a score of 13-2. Hoffman would not play in Game 1 but would play in
Game 2, going 0-2, flying out to center field in the bottom of the 4th
inning and then striking out swinging in the bottom of the 6th
inning. Hoffman would also add an assist on a groundout in the 6th
inning. (Link)
- Nick Rabat and the Virginia
Commonwealth University Rams Baseball team ended their time at the PK5 Classic
in Richmond, Virginia taking down the University of Minnesota on the strength
of a 9-run 7th inning, beating the Golden Gophers 11-4. Rabat would
not play in the Rams win. (Link)
Knight
of the Day-March 16th: It’s
not a tough decision because only 1 former MHS athlete saw action yesterday, so
the award goes to Chase Hoffman of the Shepherd University Baseball team.
Hoffman went 0-2, with a strikeout, a flyout, and an assist in Game 2 of the
Rams doubleheader against the UVA-Wise Cavaliers. The Rams would win that game,
13-2.
Record of MHS teams and teams with
former MHS athletes:
3-0.
