Winning After MidKnight

It’s a light day in the world of Middletown Athletics as we are more in waiting for the main fall sports season to start than anything else. There are a couple small scrimmages coming up but not anything major so for now read the Knights Notes for August 23rd, kick back, enjoy the nice weather, and dream of football season.

Yesterday's News

- The Middletown Knights Golf team faltered yesterday falling in a tri-match against Smithsburg and South Carroll, 178-176-168. You can read our recap of the match here. (Link)

- Connor Myers (’14) and the South Bend Cubs kicked off another homestand in fine fashion taking down the West Michigan Whitecaps (Tigers A-Affiliate), 8-2. Myers would not play in the win as he was on a day of rest for the duration fo the contest. (Link)

Knight of the Day: Not a lot to choose from so the Knight of the Day award for August 22nd will go to Middletown senior golfer Robbie Houck. He shot a 44 in the Knights loss yesterday but played an altogether solid round for the Knights.

Today's Happenings

- The events for today are limited as the only two Middletown Athletics events are the Varsity and Junior Varsity Field Hockey team heading over to Tuscarora for a scrimmage in a pre-season rematch of last year’s 2015 Central Maryland Conference Field Hockey Championship. Varsity starts at 4:00 while JV fires up at 5:30.

- Connor Myers ('14) and the South Bend Cubs will entertain West Michigan in Game 2 of their four-game series from South Bend at 7:05 as the playoff-bound Cubs wind down their regular season. (Link)
