Winning After MidKnight
We’ve got
more Golf on tap today as the beginning of Fall Sports season moves ahead at a
developing pace. On top of that, the number of days left until the first
official play date for the rest of fall sports is down to nine days, counting
today.
Over those
nine days, we’ll do previews of all the fall sports teams that haven’t begun
playing yet so that when September 2nd rolls around you have all the
up-to-date information on the teams getting started. But, as for today without
any further ado, here are your Knights Notes for Wednesday, August 24th 2016.
Yesterday’s News
- Middletown
alum Connor Myers (’13) has been known to put on a show throughout his career
and last night was no different as he robbed West Michigan’s Joey Havrilak in
the 2nd inning of their contest against his South Bend Cubs. He went
0-4 at the plate last night as the Cubs lost 6-5 but, yeah, that catch is a
beauty. (Credit to MiLB and the South Bend Cubs with the video) (Video) (Recap)
Knight of the Day: Only one Knight in action yesterday so
Connor Myers gets it automatically but boy did he earn it with that catch. Let’s
watch it again, and again, and again.
Today’s Happenings
- The Golf
team is the only Middletown High School Athletics team on the docket tonight as
they will get a much needed preview of Black Rock Golf Course as they’ll head
up to Hagerstown this evening to take on Brunswick and Boonsboro at 2:30 p.m.
We’ll have a preview of it up later, explaining why the course is so important.
(Hint, hint-They’ll qualify for states there.)
- The only
Middletown Athletics alumni in action is Connor Myers. His South Bend Cubs take
on the West Michigan Whitecaps at 7:05 p.m. in Game 3 of the 4-game set as the
Cubs wind down their regular season with a playoff berth already in hand. Oh,
and did he make a catch or something earlier this week? (Link)
