URBANA- The Middletown High School Varsity Girl’s Soccer team would pick up their first points of the season as they would draw the Westminster High School Owls in the Urbana Tournament by a 1-1 scoreline, giving the Knights their first result of the year.

After a tough 3-0 loss to the Broadneck High School Bruins a day earlier, the Knights regrouped and played their best game of the year against the Owls, scored their first goal. Middletown senior Sidney Hohl was the goal scorer for Middletown with time ticking down in the first half as her tally got the Knights on the board.

Middletown would not have the led for long as the owls’ Carolina Zentz would score for Westminster to make it 1-1 and that is where the score would stay as the Knights ended up taking the draw before the main part of their schedule rolls around.

In net for Middletown against the Owls was Emily Pusey, who had a good night recording seven saves for Middletown as Middletown has rotated their goalies at the start of the season in order to test and see who will be the starter and who will get playing time later in the season.

The Knights might be able to use this result as a way to boost their season as they only have one match-up this week and that will come against the Brunswick High School Railroaders, who the Knights defeated last year by a score of 2-1 and are a team that Middletown has had success over for a number of years.
