Junior Varsity Field Hockey: Middletown Picks Up First Win

By Ben Spector
Winning After MidKnight

This season that the Middletown High School Knights Junior Varsity Field Hockey was in the middle in was one of those seasons were everything seemed to be going right except for the final results and some of the blame for that couldn’t even be placed back on Middletown.

It also put Middletown in a position in which when they broke through it would lead to a positive shift in momentum and that is exactly what happened when the Knights took down the Tuscarora High School Titans on Thursday September 15th by a 2-0 score.

The Knights had been held scoreless over the first three games that they had played and had come close on multiple occasions so it was only a matter of time before Middletown found the back of the net.

Middletown would do just that against the Titans as they would use two goals to give themselves the lead and not look back from there as Middletown would cruise to their first win of the season over the Titans.

Middletown (1-3) had been strong defensively coming into their contest against the Titans so whether or not they would hold Tuscarora in check offensively really didn’t seem to be a question for the Knights. The real question was when the scoring would come for Middletown.

That scoring would come for the Knights in the form of two goals as Middletown would take a lead against Tuscarora and never look back picking up their first win of the season in the process.
