Another busy week of Middletown Athletics action is upon us as from today, Tuesday September 13th to Saturday September 17th, we’ll have a week jam packed with all different types of athletic events and tons of alumni in action. Today is a busy day in itself so get buckled in for the Knights Notes from September 13th.

Yesterday’s News-9/12

- Erik Williams (’12), Nick DeSimone (’16) and the Shepherd Golf team would compete in the first day of the Glade Springs Intercollegiate and it would be a mixed bag for the Rams on Day One. The Rams as a team would finish tied for fourth place as they shot a round total of 312 which would be a +24 but would only be eleven strokes off of the University of Charleston who is in the lead with 301. DeSimone would not play but Williams, who did play, would end up tied for 69th place out of 100 golfers after putting up a +12, 84. (Link)

- Jake Darr (’16) and Washington & Jefferson Golf put together another upper half finish at their second tournament of the season as the Presidents would finish tied for seventh at the Guy Kuhn Invitational. Darr led the way for the Presidents with two straight days shooting a 75, placing him in 11th place out of 103 golfers. (Link)

- Brittney George (’12), Erin Scarborough (’16) and the Hood College Women’s Soccer team fell to Eastern Mennonite, 4-1, after the Royals scored two goals in two minutes and then another two goals in eight minutes to secure the win. The four Eastern Mennonite goals were bookmarked by a Hood goal that made it 2-1 at the time on which Scarborough assisted. She would add two shots with one being on goal to add to her assist in 54 minutes of play during her start. George would start for the Blazers and would play 78 minutes. (Link)

Alumni and High School Record: 0-1, 11th place (final), tied for 69th

Knight of the Day: Not a lot to choose from as there were only five alumni in action on three teams with only four of the five alumni playing but the one that stands out is Erin Scarborough (’16) of Hood Women’s Soccer who assisted on the Blazers’ only goal against Eastern Mennonite.
