Winning After MidKnight
We have a
little bit of a down day today, Wednesday September 14th as the only
Middletown Athletics teams in action are the Golf team and the Junior Varsity
Football team leaving us with a light day of action. But, we have plenty of
recaps from yesterday so buckle up and stay tuned as we get into the Knights
Notes for September 14th.
Yesterday’s News-9/13
- The Junior
Varsity Field Hockey team would fall at home again as this time they were
dispatched by the Manchester Valley Mavericks 2-0 on Tuesday. You can read all

- The Varsity
Field Hockey team would also take on the Mavericks at home and similar to their
Junior Varsity counterparts the Knights would fall to the Mavericks by a 2-0
score from the Happy Valley. (Link)
- The Junior
Varsity Boy’s Soccer team would make the trip up to North Hagerstown High
School and would make it well worth their while by taking down the Hubs by a
4-0 score. (Link)
- The Varsity
Boy’s Soccer team would also find their stride against the North Hagerstown
Hubs as they would take down the Hubs by a score of 7-0 on the strength of two
goals by Luke Ahalt. (Link)
- The Junior
Varsity Girl’s Soccer team would play host to the North Hagerstown Hubs and
would take down the Hubs by a 3-0 score as the Knights improved to a 2-0 record
so far this season. (Link)
- The Varsity
Girl’s Soccer team would fall in a heartbreaker as twice the Knights battled
back from one goal deficits but were unable to close things out as they fell to
North Hagerstown in double overtime by a score of 3-2. (Link)
- The Junior
Varsity Volleyball team played their closest match of the season against
Maryland School for the Deaf and the Knights would fall in a tight 3rd
set to give MSD the two sets to one win. (Link)
- The Varsity
Volleyball team would also lose a close one to Maryland School for the Deaf as
the Knights battled back from the brink of defeat winning two sets when they
had to, evening the match up at two sets a piece from a 2-0 deficit but then
would fall in the fifth and deciding set. (Link)
- Erik
Williams (’12), Nick DeSimone (’16) and Shepherd Golf would compete in the
second day of the Glade Springs Intercollegiate in Daniels, West Virginia. The
Rams would finish in 11th place out of the 19 teams in the
tournament as Erik Williams would finish the tournament tied for 52nd
place out of 95 golfers. (Link)
- It was a good
day for the Middletown trio of Sharnette Gonzalez (’14), Victoria Doing (’15),
MacKenzie Farran (’16) and the Frederick Community College Women’s Soccer team
as the Cougars beat CCBC-Catonsville, 3-1. Doing would record five shots with
two of them on goal and an assist on the Cougars third goal of the game while
Gonzalez would record two shots. (Link)
Alumni and High School Record: 4-5, 1-0 alumni, 52nd place

Knight of the Day: There were a ton of worthy
performances for Middletown and their alumni but two goals for Luke Ahalt in
the Varsity Boy’s Soccer team’s 7-0 win over North Hagerstown was plenty enough
to snag the award.
Today’s Happenings-9/14
- The Golf
team will look to head to the Districts on a high note when they take on the
Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots at Maryland National Golf Course at 4:00 p.m.

- The Junior
Varsity Football team will look to start their season at 2-0 when they head
East on Interstate 70 to Mount Airy to take on the Linganore Lancers from
Linganore at 6:00 p.m. (Link)
- Abigail
Provost (’14) and the Stevenson Field Hockey team will head down to Charm City,
just a short trip from their Owings Mills campus, to take on Goucher at 7:00
p.m. The Mustangs will look for their second win of the season against their
local rival. (Link)
- Clay Smith
(’16) and the Hood College Men’s Soccer team will look to have an opportunity
to prove that they are the real deal when they play host to #10 Rowan at 4:00
p.m. The Profs are #10 in Division III in the country and the Blazers are searching
for a Division III tournament berth. (Link)
- MacKenzie
Noel (’13) and the Salisbury Women’s Soccer team will continue their five game
road trip as they hit the halfway point when they head to Roanoke to take on
Roanoke College. The Sea Gulls have tied their past two matches and will be
looking to get off the schneid. (Link)
- Haley
Dalphon (’15) and the Frostburg State Women’s Soccer team will get a chance to
get back in the win column when they play host to their own local rival, in the
form of Shenandoah. The Bobcats and Hornets will kick off from Bobcat Stadium
in Western Maryland at 7:00 p.m. (Link)
- Lauren
Neary (’15) and the Washington College Women’s Soccer will be another
Middletown alumni to take on a Goucher team except this time it’ll be on the pitch
as the Shorewomen will take on the Gophers from Chestertown at 7:00 p.m. (Link)
