Winning After MidKnight

It’ll be a busy day of activity for the Middletown High School Athletics community as many teams of Knights will be in action with a smattering of alumni sprinkled in as well. So sit back and enjoy the Knights Notes for September 6th.

Yesterday’s News

- Rick Leonard (’14) and the Florida State football team had an impressive come from behind victory as they took down the Ole Miss Rebels by a score of 45-34 in Orlando. Leonard started and played the majority of the game at right tackle for the ‘Noles as they picked up a big win over the Rebels. (Link)

- Erik Williams (’12) and Nick DeSimone (’16) and the Shepherd Golf team got their season started off by completing Day #1 of the California (PA) Vulcan Invitational from Belle Vernon, PA. DeSimone did not play in Day #1 but Williams shot two 77’s in his first two rounds of the tournament on Monday to sit at 154 which means he’s tied for 34th individually. The Rams as a team sit in 9th place overall out of 13 teams.

- Connor Myers (’12) finished up his first regular season in professional baseball with a bang as he hit his 3rd home run of the season for the South Bend Cubs as they took a 3-0 decision over the Dayton Dragons to close out the regular season. Myers would go 1-4 with the home run and three strikeouts to his ledger as the Cubs move on to the playoffs starting on Wednesday. (Link)

Knight of the Day: Yep, a homerun in your final game of the regular season will pretty much lock you in for the Knight of the Day as Connor Myers wraps this award up for September 5th.
