We’ve had a couple of busy days here but we are slowly inching closer to our lull as Saturday there will only be two events while Sunday and Monday are blanks. While we wait for the lull to come we have an exciting day ahead and we’ll start it off with our Knights Notes for September 9th.

Yesterday’s News-9/8

- The Junior Varsity Field Hockey team had an unlucky game as they would tie against Francis Scott Key and not catch any breaks on the way. (Link)

- The Varsity Field Hockey team would also have an unlucky time as two early goals would cause them to drop their match against Francis Scott Key, 2-0. (Link)

- The Golf team would play a match about as close as you can get it as they would tie with Linganore but beat Williamsport 166-166-203. (Link)

- Junior Varsity Boy’s Soccer opened their season with a thrilling match as a last second Knights goal gave them the 1-0 win over Century. (Link)

- Everything has been fine, fine, fine for the Varsity Boy’s Soccer team as they recorded another blowout taking down Century by a 4-0 margin. (Link)

- The Junior Varsity Volleyball team also continued their fine form against the Urbana Hawks. The Knights trotted to their second straight, straight sets victory in their second game of the season. (Link)

- The Varsity Volleyball team on the other hand would have a significant drop off as they would fall to the Urbana Hawks in straight sets, going down 3-0 to Urbana in their first CMC game of the season. (Link)

- Bradley Rinehart (’14) and the #4/#6 Shepherd Football team would have a scare as the University of Charleston would lead in the 2nd quarter but the Rams would come back and win 38-22 in the capital city of West Virginia. Rinehart did not play in the Rams’ loss. (Link)

- Connor Myers (’12) and the South Bend Cubs would stay alive in the Midwest League Northern Division Semifinal, as the Cubs would take a 6-2 decision over the West Michigan Whitecaps. The Cubs will now pay the Whitecaps in a deciding Game 3. Myers would go 1-4 with a double and a strikeout in the Cubbies’ win. (Link)

Alumni and High School Record:  6-2-2, 4-2-2 high school, 2-0 alumni, 1-0 playoffs

Knight of the Day: At this point in the season it’s Josh Woozley’s world and we’re all just living in it as the Knights senior forward has posted seven goals in his first three games for the Varsity Boy’s Soccer team as he added two more against Century.
