Varsity Boy's Soccer: Knights Look to Overcome Travel Hurdle

Winning After MidKnight

During this early season the Middletown High School Knights Varsity Boy’s Soccer team has had a lot of things thrown at them. From early morning games to rainy nights and everything in between this season has contained a lot of surprises for the Knights and for the most part they have handled things quite well amassing a 3-0 record and scoring thirteen goals in those games.

On Friday September 9th, the Knights will face one more challenge as they will play back-to-back games for the first and only time this season when they head down to Charm City to take on the Eastern Tech Mavericks.

Middletown who has showed now signs of slowing down will have to cut down and play tough physically and mentally as they move from the usual two days of rest or more to play on just hours of rest.

On top of that the Knights will have the bus ride to Baltimore which will take at least an hour if not more for the Knights to complete, most likely adding to the fatigue that Middletown will be feeling when they take on the Mavericks.

The real question will be if that fatigue can slow down the Middletown offense as even with the fatigue the Middletown offense still appears to be in great shape even without the day of rest, with Josh Woozley leading the way with seven goals for Middletown.

Even more important for the Knights will be try to play an active game with lots of movement as it’ll be important for them to have fresh legs, and have the ability to run the field.

Middletown has had everything thrown at them this season so far and for the Knights it’ll be just one more challenge for them to overcome as they’ve gotten pretty good at it.
