Varsity Field Hockey: Knights Fall to FSK 2-0

For the Middletown High School Knights Varsity Field Hockey team there match on Thursday September 8th against the Francis Scott Key Eagles was always going to be a strange one.

The match was played in a sweltering September heat, one which activated National Federation of High School Sports (NFHS) rules meaning that instead of the usual two halves of 30 minutes, there would be four quarters of 15 minutes something that is rarely done and something that has a huge effect on the complexion of the game.

There was still a game to be played and unfortunately the Knights would fall to the Eagles in a 2-0 game that featured some extremely physical play and two early goals from FSK that would manage to seal the deal from the opening jump.]

Middletown would give up their only two goals of the match in the first minute as the Knights would solidify from that point on but would not be able to do much as they were held to that 2-0 score.
